updating 306-307pl1 and sgp 105-107

currently my forum is running phpbb 306 and sgp 105, i have searched around on how to update the portal to 107, but im a little confused as to how to do it?

first i need to update phpbb 306-307pl1
then copy sgp files from 307-001 overwriting existing files?

sorry i have found a few different ways of doing it but none that i understood, lol..

Do the phpBB3 3.07 PL1 update as this wont have any effect on the portal...
When 307-001 is finished you should be able to update by simply copying the new files to your server...
If any sql is needed I will supply a script...
