Cannot log into ACP

I think I've sorted it... Just waiting for Pete to see if he can login... The portal is still disabled for now but I don't believe it had anything to do with the problem... more later...

Sorry for the delay but I've had a nightmare with Virgin Media and Sky and no internet connection fo what seems like forever.

Ok I have just logged into the forum and that was fine however I cannot log into the acp ( although another admin can?)

I log into portal, scroll down to the acp link and log in, I get the you have successfully reauthenticated etc but then I get:

Access to the Administration Control Panel is not allowed as you do not have administrative permissions.

I have deleted cookies but still the same.

I fixed it before by emptying the session tables, then deleting my cookies before I logged in again... Try that (remember Empty no drop)!
Make sure the two session tables are checked (an no others are) and from the drop-down menu select empty....

If you can create a new database it might be worth while install a new copy of phpBB 3.0.7 and importing only the basic tables from you site...
Ideally you would add the new site to a folder called something like forums, once you import all data you could simply redirect your main site there...
Do not install any mods as some thing is screwing up the session table and with the portal disabled it not like to be that...

Ok Mike so your suggesting the best thing here is to start again with a fresh install of 3.07 and then transfer the files over to that?

I did that with 3.06 I think but i'm not sure I did anything with the database? just download 3.06 and upload to a folder then upload some files from my backup. i'd need to look up what i did from my old posts lol.

Do you reckon this would work better and the forum could get back to normal?

I would not include any of the data that is not needed... for example you don't import sessions or search data.. I would also remove any unwanted mod info that may still remain especially modules...

Might be an idea if I update my copy (I have a copy all your files for the first time and the database at that time)..
That would allow us to test before we run into problems if they exist in the database... Would only take a short time to do this... Could make a start tomorrow...

I'm going to upgrade the copy I have (your site files) and see if all goes well... if it does you can install 3.0.7 (a clean copy and import the database without unneeded stuff)...
