Dravekx.Com Sites

You have made a Stargate Portal site and want to show it to us?...

3. [ G,B,? ] Designing a new style requires editing the SGP common files? ( IE. portal_common/template/portal_layout_left.html ) I know there's a way around this without having to edit the common files, but how?

Simply copy any common file you need to your style folder (styles/Z3/template/blocks for example), then edit these files...

6. [ G,B,? ] My girlfriend wants me to add some sort of donation/store/commercial paypal service to my site. I was looking into joomla to tie phpbb3, magento, and wordpress happily together. ( I currently run wordpress, viart, and phpbb3 all seperate. ) :sh:

I went down the road years ago of incorporating phpBB3 into Joomla and also Drupal when I was in between Integra Mod and waiting for Stargate. My biggest issue was making everything look uniform, free flowing and in place with templates and styles. I don't regret going down that road because I learned allot about style formats and use what I learn to make everything look uniform...example is psychostats game stats theme modification to look uniform i.e. like the picture below.

Get on top of the corners, things just look better once you have them out of the way. ;)

I like the rounded corners... funny FF can give any image a rounded corner... shame all browsers don't follow suit...

Okay... Here's a tough one. Z3 uses buttons.js for all the buttons. How do I convert the imageset over to prosilver? I've created and linked all the images to the imageset.cfg, copied the buttons.js and buttons.html to the template folder, and I'm currently thinking this is a mass editing expedition. :iamb: :iamb: :iamb:

PS. Hey Mike... W3C Validation with the combining power of our incomplete z3 styles on a test upload: :n1:

Some Bad News, Good new, Sad news, and New news:

1. Bad news - I woke up this morning to login to my test site (that was running oh so smooth) and the login button was not working. I proceeded to see if the database was ok via phpmyadmin, and I couldn't login there either. It's like the permissions had changed or my database had gone corrupt. I replaced everything with a backup and got the same effect. I tried the local console and witnessed the same effect. Mcafee full scan found nothing. I've no idea what the problem was, so I completely pulled the server offline, re-partitioned/formatted the system, and set it back to a brand new beast. :this:

2. Good news - I've purchase Avast! Professional. It snowed an ungodly amount here and it was really pretty!

3. Sad News - i tried to login to a couple websites and noted the same effect was happening again via my laptop. I couldn't login here and most buttons were ceasing to function via any site. I proceeded to backup my laptop and do a FULL re-partition/format with Windows7. After that, things started working again. I ran a virus scan and noted that my router had been compromised and was acting really strange. Sooo... I reset the router which killed the router! It was completely shot. :this:

4. New News - I bought a N class router (Ode to the Linksys WRT610N!), burned my McAfee CD in the microwave (after saying a few words with my hat over my heart and giving it the finger), and I'm working again! :iamb: :tea: :sm:

I have a rough idea how you feel... and this is genuine...

A short time back I could not connect to the internet no matter what I did...
I tested everything and it was all working perfectly but still no connection...
I spent more that twelve hours testing every single bit again and again and again...
About 5am I decide to grab some sleep before I did more damage...

I slept a long time waking about midnight...
Grabbed a coffee and started all over again... same old story, everything worked but no internet...
Hours later and still feeling tired I had to sleep again...

Woke about 8, real nice day but still fairly dark in these parts... grabbed another coffee and some breakfast...
Went into the computer... I had left it on all night, something I never do... moved the mouse and the screen woke up... surprisingly it was connected to stargate-portal and what's more... it appeared to be working...?

It was.... that blew me away... how the hell... what the hell...

I never did find the problem but during this time I tried...
Rebuilding my pc from scratch...
Hacked another box and built another PC...
Installed XP, Linux and a test copy of Windows 7...
Modified the hacked box and installed my Dos box with internet connectivity...
Scanned four or five drives for viruses...
Tore my hair out and questioned my sanity...

It has never made sense to me, I am still lost as to what was wrong... At this point I am starting to believe in fairies...
In old Irish folklore fairies fix things when your asleep :uns:
